Pre/Post: Micro Fragmented Adipose Tissue (MFAT) Therapy
Pre/Post Procedure | 1775218544
Microfragmented Adipose Tissue, M FAT therapy uses stem cells from your own fat tissue to support healing, reduce inflammation, and promote tissue regeneration. Here’s how to prepare for the procedure and what to expect during recovery.
To optimize healing, stay well-hydrated and eat an anti-inflammatory diet in the weeks before the procedure. If receiving anesthesia, follow NPO, nothing by mouth guidelines: no solid foods for 8 hours prior, but clear liquids like water, black coffee, or tea are allowed up to 2 hours before surgery.
Stop NSAIDS 7 days before the procedure, as they can affect treatment. Cleanse the procedure site with a pre-procedure wash like Hibiclens® the night before and morning of the procedure to reduce infection risk. Wear loose, comfortable clothing for comfort before and after treatment.
The donor site is usually the abdomen, where a small amount of fat is collected. Mild swelling, bruising, or soreness at the donor site is normal for a few days. Apply ice packs as needed. Avoid NSAIDS for 2 weeks to support full regenerative effects.
Avoid strenuous exercise and high-impact activities for 2-4 weeks to ensure proper healing. Supporting recovery with a nutrient-rich, anti-inflammatory diet, staying hydrated, and getting quality sleep will aid in tissue repair.
A follow-up appointment in 4-6 weeks is usually scheduled to assess progress. Results may take 6-8 weeks to become noticeable.
MFAT therapy harnesses your body’s own healing potential. Follow these guidelines for the best outcome. Contact the medical team with any concerns.
